Spring Time

Ok so where do I start?  Ahhhh yes, Spring Break.  My kids were on spring break so of course we took them on vacation.  Williamsburg, VA.  Busch Gardens was great.  Austin rode a tone of coasters.  Aydin went on his first log flume, and Alec started a "map in hand while going down roller coasters" tradition.  The boys had a blast.  Ashton is now cutting his top teeth which must be another tradition, because he cut his bottom two in Williamsburg in January.  My parents joined us for Easter and a couple of days in Colonial Williamsburg.  A day shopping at the outlets topped off the trip before we head home to good ole North Carolina.  All the boys were there except the oldest who has turned 18 and feels he has earned some right of passage to adulthood, blocked me on facebook because "its all my fault," and who has forgotten all about his family.  Sad...yes, tired of his games...more than you know.  This I could say is where I am treated like the "typical" step parent.  We do so much for our step children, but get treated like crap, receive no respect, and get blamed for everything to include the rise in gas prices.  Dear Tony tells me to let it go, but hey, its easier said then done when you haven't done anything wrong...oh wait...I did...I was a parent and enforced rules.  LOL  Nevertheless, we haven't seen our oldest in going on 5 months now.  Yes it must be spring.  When summer is here, my younger boys will be off at camp, waiting on our summer vacation to the beach and oh darn it...I turn 30 :(  I love the spring, kids go crazy, i get the fever, and its time for BBQs, Swimming, and fresh air!! :)
